Getting Ready: When and How to Request a Change
You can request a change to your plan manager at any time. There's no need to wait for your plan review. This is a common myth that can leave you stuck with unsuitable services. To start, you simply need to contact the NDIS by phone (1800 800 110) or through the myplace portal and tell them you want to change plan managers.
Before you make that call, prepare this information:
- Your NDIS number
- The full legal name of your chosen new plan manager (e.g., 'MyMoney by Local Knowledge Pty Ltd')
- Their contact details, which you can find on their website or a provider directory like MyCareFinders.
Once submitted, the NDIS will update your plan. The change is usually effective within 2-3 business days. You will receive a new 'My Plan' document in your portal. It's crucial to act during this window to ensure a smooth transition and avoid any gap in payment processing.
