Your Fundamental NDIS Rights
As an NDIS participant, you have the right to:
- Choice and control — decide which providers you use and how your supports are delivered
- Dignity and respect — be treated with courtesy by all providers and the NDIA
- Privacy — your personal information is protected under Australian privacy law
- Safety — receive supports in a safe environment free from abuse, neglect, or exploitation
- Make complaints — raise concerns without fear of losing your supports
- Access an advocate — have someone speak on your behalf if needed
These rights are enshrined in the NDIS Act 2013 and the NDIS Code of Conduct.
