Your Fundamental NDIS Rights

As an NDIS participant, you have the right to:

  • Choice and control — decide which providers you use and how your supports are delivered
  • Dignity and respect — be treated with courtesy by all providers and the NDIA
  • Privacy — your personal information is protected under Australian privacy law
  • Safety — receive supports in a safe environment free from abuse, neglect, or exploitation
  • Make complaints — raise concerns without fear of losing your supports
  • Access an advocate — have someone speak on your behalf if needed

These rights are enshrined in the NDIS Act 2013 and the NDIS Code of Conduct.
