The Different Roles in Your NDIS Team

Think of your NDIS journey as building a team to help you reach your goals. It's important to know who does what so you can find the right help.

Support Coordinator: This is your main connection to the NDIS world. They help you understand your plan, find and connect with service providers, and sort out any issues. They are like your guide and project manager, helping you make choices and get things set up.

Plan Manager: This person or company takes care of all the money side of your plan. They pay your providers' invoices, keep track of your budget, and send you reports on your spending. A good plan manager, like MyMoney by Local Knowledge Pty Ltd, gives you freedom to use any provider (NDIS-registered or not) and takes the financial admin off your hands.

Support Workers & Therapists: These are the people who deliver your day-to-day supports. Your support coordinator helps you find and hire them, but they are the ones who work directly with you.

Your support coordinator and plan manager work closely together. The coordinator helps you organise services and appointments, and the plan manager ensures those providers get paid correctly and on time.
