NDIS Plan Management Explained: Your Money, Your Control, On Time
A clear guide to how funding flows from your plan to your provider's payment
What Plan Management Is (and Isn't)
Think of your NDIS plan manager as your personal financial assistant for your disability supports. They handle the money side of things so you can focus on receiving your services. Their core job is to pay your providers from your NDIS funds, keep track of your budgets, and give you regular statements so you know exactly where your money is going.
Specifically, a plan manager:
- Pays your support providers after checking their invoices are correct and funded.
- Manages your NDIS budgets, tracking how much you've spent in each category.
- Provides financial reporting so you can see your remaining funds.
- Helps you understand your plan and how to use your funding.
It's important to know what they don't do. A plan manager does not choose your supports or providers for you. They do not deliver any therapy or support work themselves. Their role is purely financial administration, giving you the flexibility of self-management without the paperwork burden.
