I want to switch my plan manager or provider
You can change your NDIS plan manager or provider at any time — your funding belongs to you, not to them. Check the notice period in your service agreement, line up your new provider first so there is no gap, then give written notice. To change plan manager, also tell the NDIA so payments go to the right place.

The key things to know
Your funding moves with you
Providers and plan managers do not own your funding. Changing does not reduce your plan.
Check your service agreement
It sets the notice period and any cancellation terms. If there is no written agreement, give reasonable notice in writing.
Avoid a gap
Confirm your new provider can start before you give notice, especially for daily supports.
You are protected
Providers must not treat you badly for changing or complaining. Concerns can go to the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.
How to switch, step by step
- 1
Write down what is not working
It helps you choose a better fit, and you can raise it with the current provider if you want to.
- 2
Find and confirm a new provider
Check they serve your area, offer the support you need and can start when you need them.
- 3
Give written notice
Follow the notice period in your service agreement. Keep a copy of your email or letter.
- 4
If changing plan manager, tell the NDIA
Contact the NDIA (1800 800 110) or your local area coordinator so your plan records the new plan manager. Let both plan managers know the change date.
- 5
Check final invoices and handover
Make sure you are only charged for supports delivered up to the end date, and that any service bookings are ended.
Ready to switch? Post once — let them come to you.
Post one free MyCareMatch request. Providers and plan managers who serve your area reply with how they can help, and you choose who (if anyone) to talk to. We never rank or recommend providers.

Frequently asked questions
Will I lose funding if I change provider?
No. Your funding stays in your plan. Only supports actually delivered are paid.
How much notice do I need to give?
Whatever your service agreement says. Many agreements set a notice period in weeks. If there is no agreement, give reasonable written notice.
Can I change from NDIA-managed to plan-managed?
Yes. Changing how your plan is managed is requested through the NDIA. You can ask by phone, through your local area coordinator, or at a plan reassessment.
What if my provider pressures me to stay?
You have the right to choose. If you are pressured or treated unfairly, you can complain to the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.
